Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 May 2026
Sideline ("the app") is operated by Jorge Reyes, an independent developer ("we", "us"). Using the app means you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Sideline is a free mobile app for tracking the 2026 men's football World Championship: live scores, AI-generated match previews, and private score-prediction pools you create with friends. We provide the app as-is; we can change features, pricing, or shut down with reasonable notice.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, whichever is higher.
- You need a working email address to create an account.
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe. If you suspect compromise, change it from the in-app reset flow.
3. Acceptable use
Don't do any of this in the app:
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate others — including your pool members.
- Submit content that's unlawful where you or the recipient lives.
- Reverse-engineer, automate, scrape, or stress-test the service beyond reasonable use.
- Bypass the rate limits, RLS policies, or any other security controls.
- Run real-money gambling on top of a Sideline pool. Pools are for friendly competition. Real-money wagering is on you.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Severe / repeated violations get a permanent ban.
4. Your content
The display name, pool names, and predictions you create are your content. You keep ownership. By submitting them you grant us a limited license to store and display them inside the pools you've shared them with, for the duration of your account.
5. The AI summaries
Match analyses are generated by an AI model (currently Claude Haiku / Sonnet by Anthropic) from public live-score data. They are entertainment, not journalism. They may be wrong about lineups, injuries, or historical context. Don't bet money on them. If you spot a clearly wrong statement, email us and we'll review.
6. Third-party trademarks
Team names, country flags, league names, stadium names, and match data are property of their respective owners. Sideline displays them under a fair-use / nominative-use rationale. We aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FIFA, any national association, or any rights-holder. If you represent a rights-holder and want a specific item adjusted, email us.
7. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee:
- Continuous availability (the data feeds, push services, and backend can have outages).
- Accuracy of scores, fixtures, lineups, or AI-generated content.
- Compatibility with future OS versions.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the app. Direct damages, if a court finds we owe any, are capped at the amount you paid for the app in the last 12 months — which, since the app is free, is zero.
9. Termination
You can delete your account at any time by emailing hello@sideline.app. We can terminate or suspend access if you breach these terms or the law. On termination, the license you granted us under Section 4 ends and we delete your data per the Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Colombia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that we can't resolve by email goes to the courts of Bogotá, Colombia. If you're a consumer and your local law gives you stronger protections, those still apply.
11. Changes to these terms
Material changes — new restrictions, new obligations, anything you'd reasonably want to know — get an in-app banner notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Contact
Questions, takedown requests, legal notices: hello@sideline.app.
